Only 800 original documented miles ~very rare~ firebird 20th anniversary turbo trans am gta ~the tta gta is a result of a unique partnership between pontiac and prototype automotive services (pas), the 1989 trans am gta was equipped with a more powerful and exclusive version of the turbocharged buick 3. 8l v6, originally developed for the buick regal grand national. It was tuned and tweaked by (pas) and the result was theturbo trans am (tta) gta. Originally built to be supplied to pace the indianapolis 500. Ultimately, 1,555 ttas were produced and at the time it was the fastest american production vehicle available to the public. The only rival was a prototype corvette not available until the 1990 model year. According to the manufacturer, the 20th anniversary tta gta pace car had a top speed of 162mph and was rated at 250 bhp . Both numbers were said to be very modest by car and driver magazine and other industry publications and individual tests. It was estimated that the actual horsepower was actually about 300bhp and with only $300 in parts any 1989 anniversary tta gta was capable of 182mph! This particular 20th anniversary turbo gta indy pace car is in showroom condition and is mint in every way~ this is a 100% stock vehicle as it was from the factory in 1989! We have the original books, keys, manuals, indianapolis 500 official pace car decals as packaged and shipped to the selling dealer from general motors.
